Are you ready to experience the magic of Showquest? Levin Intermediate School is excited to offer our students the opportunity to participate in this amazing event, which combines the elements of Art, Music, Dance, Drama, Culture, and Technology to create a unique and unforgettable stage-based performance.
Our students are taught dance in the first two terms of the year via extension classes with ‘Footsteps’ dance based in Wellington, which is a great way for them to develop their skills and passion for dance. From there, they can choose to be part of the Showquest team, where they will have the opportunity to work with their peers and create a performance that showcases their talents and creativity.
Past themes have included World Climate and Kaitiakitanga, which explored the importance of taking care of our environment and preserving our natural resources, and Reviving Te Reo Maori, which celebrated the revitalization of the Maori language and culture.
In addition to the main performance, we also enter the Wearable Arts division of the show, where our students have consistently placed in the top three each year. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their creative talents and imagination, while also exploring new and exciting ways to express themselves.
Showquest is held in professional venues around Aotearoa, which adds to the excitement and anticipation of the event. It's a chance for our students to experience the thrill of performing on a big stage, in front of a live audience, and to be part of something truly special.
We are incredibly proud of our students who have participated in Showquest in the past, and we can't wait to see what our current and future students will create.
